Submitting the questionnaire
Attention
The 2026 Census is now underway only in select northern and remote communities. If you have received an invitation letter, please follow the steps below to complete your census.
Those living outside the select communities will receive a census invitation letter this May.
How will I know that Statistics Canada has received my questionnaire?
If you were directed to a Thank you page with a 12-digit confirmation number your information was submitted.
Keep a copy of the confirmation number for your records.
There can be a lag between the time you submit your questionnaire and the time it is received by Statistics Canada. If this happens, you might be sent a reminder to complete your census. Please disregard any reminders received after submitting your questionnaire.
I just completed the online questionnaire. Is there a way for me to print my answers?
The Census of Population questionnaire cannot be printed.
The Census of Agriculture has a Print for your records option available after you submit your questionnaire. However, please note that after 20 minutes of inactivity on the Thank you page, your session will time out and the option to print will no longer be available.
